STEP button
- Definition:
Press the step button to advance the
the Viterbi algorithm. How much the algorithm will advance by is determined by the setting
of the Step Increment field which appears immediately to the
right of the step button.
- Usage:
The step button is all you need to
press to run a simulation. Rapidly pressing the step button may cause the program to
appear to skip ahead in the progress of the algorithm. This only means that the program
computed multiple steps faster than the trellis diagrams could be drawn; it has no adverse
effects on the simulation. Pressing the step button after a simulation has completed has
no effect.
